Rev. Crystal Lowe, Assistant Pastor
Rev. Crystal Valina Lowe serves in various ministry and leadership capacities within the local church. Before becoming a member of Judah Temple in April 1997, Rev. Lowe actively served in outreach ministries including street ministry, prison ministry, and homeless shelter ministry. Although outreach ministry is still her passion, Rev. Lowe also serves in the teaching ministries of the church and has developed and implemented numerous discipleship classes and workshops to equip the saints for works of service. Rev. Lowe currently coordinates curriculum and classes for Judah University (affectionately known as Judah U), which seeks to provide learning opportunities that equip persons to walk in the ways of God and be productive in their lives. In addition, Rev. Lowe’s compassion for victims of sexual abuse prompted her to organize a ministry called BreakThrough to help survivors triumph over the victimization of their past and walk in freedom and newness of life.
Rev. Lowe preached her Trial Sermon, "It's Time to Restore Order to the House of God," on January 24, 1999, and was ordained a deacon in the A.M.E. Zion Church at the 173rd session of the Philadelphia and Baltimore Annual Conference in May 2002. She was ordained an elder at the 176th session of the Philadelphia and Baltimore Annual Conference in May 2005.
Rev. Lowe earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Bowie State University in Bowie, MD, and a Master’s of Theological Studies degree from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC.
